Prospective Undergraduate Students

I mentor Marine Biology undergraduate students in the School of Life Sciences through Directed Research (Biol 499). If you are interested in conducting directed research, please email me with your CV and if you have a proposed project idea already. During the summer, I mentor undergraduates working our lab through the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP).

We are looking for a motivated undergraduate to apply for Project Funding through UROP to assist on a project evaluating coral reef fish grazing around Oʻahu. This project will consist of fieldwork (snorkel and scuba based) and computer analysis work of videos and photos. Please email me if you are interested in applying for this grant.

Prospective Graduate Students

I accept graduate students within the School of Life Sciences through the Marine Biology Graduate Program or the Zoology Graduate Program. If you are interested in joining my lab as a graduate student please email me and include:

If you are interested in joining my lab as a postdoc, please email me and tell me about your research interests and experience, attach your CV (with references), and attach 1-2 published or in-preparation manuscripts. I will post any grant funded opportunities here as funding becomes available. There are many fellowships to support independent post-docs and I am happy to work on proposals together (examples listed below).
